1. How can I restore Carly coding from a backup?

A backup is created before each coding. This backup can be put back into the system. To do so, please follow these steps:

For Google Android :

1. Start the app.
2. Connect.
3. Change to „coding“.
4. Test compatibility.
5. Choose the module, which should be reset.
6. Click „Load back-up“ on the right side. If “load back-up” isn’t visible, scroll down to the right side.
7. Select the preferred backup. The backups are sorted from old (above) to new (below).
8. Click „load back-up“.
9. Click „restore“.

For Apple iOS :

1. Start the app.
2. Connect.
3. Change to „coding“.
4. Test compatibility.
5. Choose the module, which should be reset.
6. Read coding data.
7. Click on „back“ (at the end of the page on the left side).
8. Click „choose back-up“.
9. Select the preferred backup. The backups are sorted from old (above) to new (below).
10. Click „Load back-up“.
11. Click „restore“.

To keep in mind 💡: If the backup fails, please try another backup file of the same module!

2. What can I do if Carly coding restore fails?

1. Disconnect the car battery and wait 15-20 minutes.
2.  Reconnect the car battery.
3. Perform a diagnosis and delete all errors (If there are any errors left, please follow the next steps anyway).
4. Turn off the ignition, lock the car and wait another 15-20 minutes to make sure your car is safely out of diagnostic mode.
5. Set the communication speed to 'slow' in the app's settings.
6. Activate the expert mode in the app's settings (If available).
7. Keep the engine running.
8. Reconnect Carly to your car.
9. If the app asks you for a scanner update, run it.
10. Please try to restore the control unit with the oldest backup while the engine is running.
11.  It is best to try 2-3 attempts in a row if it does not work the first time.
